Core Integration for Improving Lower Back Function
Core Integration is a way of using your body in a natural way that empowers you to perform the activities of daily life without pain. In this class we will focus on the organization of the pelvis, low back, and ribs to improve bending forward, reaching, lifting, sitting, and standing. These are the typical problems of people with low back pain. In this innovative class we will combine the advantages of a small group with the specificity of individualized treatment. There will only be four students.
The class will be a combination of movement reeducation done on massage tables, and manual treatment of particular problem muscles to change your painful pattern. Our goal is to stretch your brain as well as your muscles. The genesis of this approach is based in the principles taught by Moshe Feldenkrais and Josef Delagrotte and the specific bodywork style of Neuromuscular Therapy, NMT. The instructor Arthur Madore, LMT is a certified teacher of Core Integration and Neuromuscular Therapy with 20 years experience as a manual therapist.
This class is appropriate for people who have chronic rather than severe acute pain. You need to be able to get on and off a table and to be willing and able to do basic movements without any muscle spasm.
Course Fee: $200 / 6 hours of semi-private instruction.
