Our department is proud to serve the patient community and their families. We provide state-of-the-art evaluation and treatment for patients who require parenteral nutrition and enteral feedings and who have complex nutritional and metabolic disorders.

• Nutritional assessment and prescription
• Specialized nutritional testing, such as indirect calorimetry
• Intravenous access procedures including insertion of long-term venous access catheters such as implanted ports and tunneled catheters
• Placement of tubes for enteral feeding
• Placement and management of peripherally inserted central catheters (PICC) for inpatients and outpatients at the BWH
• Therapies for wound healing, fistula closure, and complex gastrointestinal problems
• Complex nutritional consults and guidance to primary physicians for managing outpatients on parenteral and enteral nutrition
