Fragile Beginnings
Fragile Beginnings is a support network for parents whose babies are born prematurely. Through direct service we provide the bridge from the hospital to home for the days, weeks, months and years that follow. Fragile Beginning services are available to any family with a premature infant in the greater Boston area and surrounding communities. Please read one NICU mother's story of her experience with her preemie and the importance Fragile Beginnings could have for families.
American Academy of Pediatrics
The AAP is the authoritative educational association for pediatricians in the United States. The site includes general information, current news items, research information and more for parents and practicioners.
Mothers' Support Groups
A listing of support groups for mothers in several different locations from the Jewish Family & Children's Service. Group topics include postpartum adjustment, groups for parents of multiples, gay and lesbian parents' support, and many more. Most groups are free of charge and open to the community.
Center for Early Relationship Support
The Center for Early Relationship Support is a resource for support, clinical intervention and information for newborns and their families. Programs include: Visiting Moms: free home visits for new parents; Early Connections: specialized therapeutic home visits and treatment; support groups; Fragile Beginnings; feeding support; sleep consultations; infant-parent training institute; and much more.
CaringBridge Websites
CaringBridge, which Brigham and Women's Hospital has been sponsoring since fall 2005, offers free, easy-to-create web sites that help connect friends and family when they need it most. It "allows patients and families to easily create a secure Web site and sign in at any time to post journal entries and photographs. Visitors use a personal confidential, Web address and password to read updates and post encouraging messages." Based in BWH's Bretholtz Center for Patients and Families, the Library provides up-to-date resources and staff support to better understand the health issues in your life or that of a loved one. The librarians and trained staff can assist you with access to their print, audiovisual, and Internet resources.

FamilyTLC.net provides tools to enhance the parent/child relationship. You'll find age-appropriate, fun learning activities to do with children quickly and easily. The activities are segmented by age and type of activity (e.g. Crafts, Cooking, Science, Nature, etc.)
