The Well Baby Division of the Department of Newborn Medicine staffs the Faculty Newborn Service and the Hubbell Teaching Service at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Both these services are made up of dedicated and experienced hospital-based physicians who provide comprehensive inpatient newborn care. All of our physicians are on the staff of Brigham and Women's Hospital and on the faculty of Harvard Medical School. Our pediatricians are available 24 hours a day, seven days per week, ensuring that there will always be a physician to care for your baby while he or she is in the hospital.
If the pediatrician you have chosen to care for your baby after his or her hospitalization is not credentialed at BWH, or does not visit BWH, your primary pediatrician or you may wish to make arrangements to have the Faculty Newborn Service care for your baby while here. We will meet with you during your hospital stay, visit each day you are in the hospital, perform routine newborn screening tests, administer required and elective vaccinations, refer your baby for specialty care if needed, and coordinate with your primary pediatrician after your baby is discharged.
