Laurence Higgins, MD
Dr. Higgins is an Associate Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital and is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery. He completed his residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York City. He is the Brigham and Women’s Hospital Chief, Harvard Shoulder Service as well a Chief of the Sports Medicine and Shoulder Service. He specializes in sports medicine and shoulder injuries. He performs arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee as well as total shoulder replacements.
Dr. Higgins also completed a Fellowship:
- In Sports Medicine and Shoulder Surgery at The Center for Sports Medicine at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center
*** NEW*** Dr. Higgins is now the Team Physician for Brookline High School
Prior to joining the staff at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital last year Dr. Higgins was the team physician for:
- Duke University
- The University of Pittsburgh Athletic Teams
- The Professional Football Team (NFL) the Pittsburgh Steelers
