Spiritual Care Services Department

Welcome to the Spiritual Care Services Department Website! The Spiritual Care Services Department of the Brigham and Women's Hospital provides patients, their friends and family as well as the BWH staff with emotional, spiritual, and religious support. Our staff consists of many interfaith chaplains ready to serve you as best they can.

The Spiritual Care Services Department, a division of Patient Care Services, is dedicated to serving the needs of patients, families, staff, and the wider community. We are committed to offering compassionate spiritual care and emotional support as resources for healing. We embrace the teaching and research mission of the hospital by providing the highest quality education of pastoral care providers.

Our staff and student chaplains represent diverse communities of faith and philosophy. We accompany everyone on their journey of healing, no matter whether you consider yourself religious, spiritual, nonreligious, or searching. Our staff include fluent speakers of English, Spanish, French, German, Hebrew, Norwegian, Arabic, Turkish, Ebira, and Igala, and we are happy to work with interpreter services to provide support to anyone in the hospital in the language they prefer.

Spiritual Care Services continue to support our patient and staff community at the Brigham through the COVID-19 pandemic. Our chaplains are available to support patients and families both bedside and remotely. The Brigham and Women's Hospital Chapel is open to staff and located on the first floor of the Tower building at 75 Francis St, behind Patient Family Relations.

To reach us with questions or to request a visit from a chaplain, please call the Brigham and Women’s Spiritual Care Services office at (617) 732 7480.
