  • PULMONARY AND CRITICAL CARE MEDICINE HOME

The Center for LAM Research and Clinical Care is focused on providing excellence in clinical care and offering the most up-to-date research for women with lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM). The combination of comprehensive clinical care and leading edge research creates an ideal setting to increase our understanding of the causes of LAM, while at the same time offering women access to research trials. We are dedicated to providing education, support, and opportunities for participation in clinical trials in an effort to develop new therapies for the LAM community.

Why Choose Us?

The Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH), a teaching affiliate of Harvard Medical School, and a partner of Dana Farber Cancer Institute, is at the forefront of research and multidisciplinary management of advanced diseases. The Center for LAM Research and Clinical Care works closely with experts in urology, OB/GYN, imaging, oncology, thoracic surgery, mental health, reproductive medicine, and nutrition to address the diverse needs of women with LAM. BWH, a leader in women’s health, is also home to the largest thoracic surgery center in the country. Our Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine is nationally recognized and staffed with clinicians well versed in the pulmonary and pleural manifestations of LAM and their management. For all of these reasons, Brigham and Women’s Hospital is the ideal setting for this clinical center, focused on creating a dynamic bridge between leading-edge LAM research and state of the art multi-disciplinary clinical care.

The Center for LAM Research and Clinical Care is dedicated to:
  • Provide comprehensive, multidisciplinary, individualized clinical care for women with LAM

  • Fast-track leading-edge basic, translational, and patient-based LAM research and trials

  • Educating patient, medical, and scientific communities about LAM

  • Establish global networks for information and data exchange among patients, researchers and clinicians to accelerate the pace and impact of new knowledge
