Ordering Radioactive Material
The prerequisites to ordering radioactive material include:
eProcurement training offered through Peoplesoft Basic Radiation Safety Training Authorization from the Office of Health Physics to place radioisotope orders Ordering radioactive material is performed as follows:
- First you must obtain a Radiation Safety (RS) number. Read the steps that follow, then click here to be directed to the page where you can submit your request.
- Once you complete the Radioisotope Order Request and click on submit, you will receive a "RS #" and a list of authorized radioisotope receipt locations.
- Enter the eProcurement system and enter the information to purchase your item.
- You MUST enter the RS # just obtained into the Comment section of the purchase requisition.
- Ensure the "Ship To" address is completed with one of the three locations identified in step 2.
- Submit your order.
Once you submit your order, an approval is required from the RSO prior to the order being placed. You don't need to do anything to obtain this; Peoplesoft will take care of this.
The radioactive material package will be received by a member of the Office of Health Physics and that person will deliver the package to your laboratory.
