Oncoradiology Fellowship at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute
Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Brigham and Women’s Hospital, and Harvard Medical School’s Oncoradiology Fellowship Program announces an unexpected fellowship opening starting July 2008.
Eligibility:
The available position is open to board-eligible or board-certified radiologists.
Rotation Overview:
The fellowship offers the opportunity to develop expertise in Oncoradiology in a multidisciplinary setting at a Comprehensive Cancer Center designated by the National Cancer Institute and an affiliate of Harvard Medical School. Approximately 60% of the fellowship focuses on body and neuroimaging through CT and MR imaging as well as ultrasound and plain film diagnostic studies. The other 40% of the fellowship includes rotations in PET-CT and a consultation service in multidisciplinary oncologic clinics. Breast imaging training is available if interested, but not mandatory. This training would include mammography, biopsy, US, and MRI evaluation of the breast.
Research:
The fellow is allotted a day free of clinical responsibilities to partake in a research project that is mentored by an attending radiologist in whatever area interests her/him.
Elective Time:
There is one month of elective time which may be spent in research, or in other subspecialties at Brigham and Women's Hospital or other Harvard-affiliated hospitals.
Teaching:
There are many lecture series and conferences available to the fellow.
