Welcome to the Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology at BWH. We specialize in the imaging of disorders of bones, joints and soft tissues. The Musculoskeletal Radiology Division has a long established tradition of imaging excellence including both diagnostic and interventional services and is aligned closely with the clinical services of Orthopedics, Rheumatology, and Ambulatory Medicine among many others. The division specializes in all areas of Musculoskeletal imaging and intervention including tumor, arthritis, infection, metabolic disease, trauma, sports medicine, and congenital abnormalities. State of the art imaging and care is provided utilizing MRI, CT, Ultrasound and radiography. State of the art CT and 1.5 and 3.0 Magnets are available, with each study tailored to the specific patient and physician’s needs. Intrarticular arthography, diagnostic and therapeutic injections, aspirations and biopsies are provided including a state of the art spine interventional service.
The Musculoskeletal radiology main clinical practice is located within Ambulatory Services at BWH on the 1st floor across from Rheumatology and Orthopedics. Other locations staffed by the division include the BWH Ambulatory Center at 850 Boylston Street and the Brigham and Women’s/Mass General Health Care Center adjacent to the Patriots Gillette Stadium located in Foxboro, MA. All of our sites are linked by digital technology to allow images to be available to clinicians and consultants.
Our radiology staff consists of 9 full time and 1 part time staff radiologist. All of our staff radiologists are subspecialty trained in musculoskeletal imaging and devote their practices to this discipline. They are all actively involved in clinical, teaching and research activities and are available for consultation.
The section provides training for 6 full time 1-year MSK fellows each academic year (see below).
