| Physics |
Second year residents will be provided an in-house, longitudinal series of radiology physics lectures leading up to the radiology physics written boards in the fall. In addition, the department pays for any resident who will be taking the Physics portion of the written exam to attend the Huda Physics Review, a four-day intensive review given by Walter Huda, PhD, at a location in Boston. | New England Roentgen Ray Society (NERRS) - 6 per year, Fridays 3:00 – 6:00 pm |
These meetings consist of educational programs, highlighting renowned local, national and international speakers covering contemporary topics in radiology. The program format includes resident-focused topics, a visiting professor lecture, and an unknown case panel. The meetings attract radiology practitioners from across New England. Multiple current BWH radiology staff members are past presidents of the NERRS. For more information, consult www.nerrs.org. |
| Armed Forces Institute of Pathology (AFIP) |

Third year residents attend the four-week Radiology/Pathology course offered at AFIP. The department pays the tuition and provides a $1000 stipend to help cover housing and transportation costs. For more information, consult www.afip.org. |
| Annual BWH/MGH Radiology Review Course |
All fourth year residents are expected to attend the 5-day BWH/MGH Radiology Review course held at a hotel in Boston each spring. This meeting is an intensive review of all radiology modalities and serves as helpful preparation for oral boards in June. The department covers the tuition.
