Facilities
At the BWH, you will have access to state of the art equipment for your training. PACS workstations with Voice Recognition are in use in all reading room. A completely digital mammography section with a 3T MRI opened in 2006. There are eleven MR scanners, including six 3 T Magnets. There are nine CT scanners including a 64-slice CT, a 128-slice CT with fluoroscopic capability, two dual source CTs and a 320-slice CT in the new Shapiro Cardiovascular Center , which opened in the Spring of 2008. our body interventional angiography suites, two of which have Dyna CT capability. Cutting edge ultrasound machines, including 3-D capabilities, are used in the ultrasound division. Our internationally renowned nuclear medicine division boasts two PET/CTs, a SPECT/CT and an on-site cyclotron.
There currently is one operating MR magnet and the operating room of the future, the AMIGO project (Advanced Multimodality Image Guided Operating), is in the works.
