OPRC Events, Training and Career Development

The OPRC sponsors many types of events for BWH Postdoctoral Fellows.  Event information and registration can be completed via the BWH Event Calendar.  Details on each series are below.

OPRC Annual Postdoc Summer Barbecue and Welcome Reception

Postdoc Pub Tours!
Organized by the HMS/HSDM Postdoc Association, Postdoc Pub Tours take place every other Wednesday night at various pubs in the Longwood Medical Area.  Sign up for the OPRC Newsletter to receive locations and reminders.  BWH Postdocs are encouraged to attend!   Postdoc contact: Pablo Cironi - Pablo_Cironi@HMS.HARVARD.EDU

Career & Professional Development Series

These events are often co-sponsored by the BRI's Research Career Development Committee (RCDC), other Longwood Medical Area Institution's Postdoc Offices and the BWH Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (CFDD).

Postdoc Lunch Series

These events are held monthly and include updates and annoucements from the OPRC, a speaker discussion/topic and allows time for BWH postdocs to network with fellow postdocs. Topics, speakers and slide decks can be found here.

Professional Pathways Program

These events are geared toward postdocs who are considering careers away from the bench. These events are often organized by the HMS/HSDM Postdoctoral Association

Special Events

National Postdoctoral Association

The consortium of LMA postdoc offices were awarded the National Postdoctoral Association Annual Spring Conference in 2008. The conference will be held at the Conference Center at Harvard Medical School. More information about the NPA can be found here.
