1. To locate, appraise, and use scientific data to improve patient care. | 1. Inpatient and outpatient supervised evaluations of clinical cases. 2. Discussion by faculty and fellows of formal case presentations made at Renal Grand Rounds at least 5 times per year by each clinical year trainee. | 1. 2. To apply knowledge of rigorous scientific principles, study design and statistical methods to evaluate published clinical studies and do clinicopathologic investigations. | 1. Renal Journal Club presentations and discussions. 2. Renal Grand Rounds case presentations, some of which will be formally written up and submitted for publication as case reports. 3. Direct clinical and/or translational research experience during research years. | 1. Verbal feedback and discussion at Journal Club. 2.
