The Harvard BWH/CHB Med-Peds Residency is comprised of educational rotations through the BWH Internal Medicine Residency and the Boston Combined Residency in Pediatrics (BCRP). These programs operate out of institutions that are world-renowned for patient care and residency training.
Residents have excellent exposure to all aspects of acute illness in the participating institutions during their inpatient training experiences. Residents develop competence in managing common acute illness presentations in addition to the most severe presentations of rare disease processes. Both host hospitals serve the immediate surrounding community as well as the global community for referrals and care. Residents rotate through all meaningful educational experiences in these hospitals including the general medicine and pediatric wards, subspecialty teams such as oncology and cardiology, the emergency departments and the various ICU settings.

Both programs also offer extensive and outstanding educational conferences including weekly grand rounds, intern report and journal club, a well-established core curriculum noon conference series, resident as teacher training, morning report, code training, simulator experience and more. Being located adjacent to the Harvard Medical School campus ensures a wealth of teaching and learning opportunities for housestaff as well. Residents have the opportunity to teach Harvard and Boston University medical students both on the ward services and as part of structured courses with the medical school such as “Patient Doctor”.
Brigham and Women’s Hospital
Brigham and Women’s Hospital is the main teaching site for the internal medicine component of the Med-Peds residency and is one of the main teaching hospitals for Harvard Medical School. Located in Boston between Brookline, MA and the Roxbury community, residents have the opportunity to care for patients with common to complex medical conditions under the mentorship of renowned medical educators, clinicians, and researchers. Faulkner Hospital
Faulkner Hospital is a community hospital located nearby in Jamaica Plain, MA. The hospital is fully integrated with Brigham and Women’s Hospital, sharing patients and services. Children’s Hospital Boston
Children’s Hospital Boston (CHB) is the main teaching site for the Pediatrics component of the Med-Peds residency and is also one of the main teaching hospitals affiliated with Harvard Medical School. Boston Medical Center
