Minority scientists and physicians are particularly encouraged to apply to the research and clinical training programs. In addition to the customary stipend received by trainees, some minority candidates may be eligible for additional funding. We also have recently instituted new programs to encourage the training of minority scientists at other levels, including a summer and sabbatical leave program for minority faculty from other institutions and summer internships for undergraduates.
