The new Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascular
Center will:

• Encompass 350,000 square feet.
  
  
• Cost $352 million, including $65 million for equipment and furnishings.
  
  
• Require an additional 270 staff.
  
  
• Include 16 state-of-the-art operating suites, each able to accommodate next-generation minimally invasive technology, including robotic surgery, image-guided technology, and other advanced technologies.
  
  
• Add one endovascular procedure room and four electrophysiology procedure rooms to our current complement.
  
  
• Include 40 intensive care unit rooms and 96 routine inpatient rooms; all will be private with private bathrooms and have sleep-in accommodations for family members.
  
  
• Dedicate 2,500 square feet of space to patient and family education areas.
