Comprehensive, diagnostic sleep studies are conducted in our state-of-the-art Sleep Laboratory at the Sleep HealthCenter affiliated with Brigham and Women's Hospital in Brighton (Boston). The Sleep Laboratory has 6 private rooms for over-night (polysomnography) and daytime (MSLT/MWT) sleep studies. Brain activity, eye movements, muscle tone, EKG, limb movements, blood oxygen levels, snoring sounds, and respiration are monitored and stored digitally in a central control center. Trained sleep technologists conduct and monitor these studies. For patients diagnosed with obstructive sleep apnea, continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) studies are also performed. Daytime studies are used to determine sleepiness or vigilance. All sleep studies are then interpreted by clinicians trained in Sleep Medicine and a detailed report is forwarded to the referring physician. Patients seeking more information about our Sleep Laboratory or wishing to schedule an appointment should call 617-783-1441 or the toll-free number at 1-877-SleepHC (1-877-753-3742). This number is staffed from 8:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. For calls after hours, you may leave a voicemail message and your call will be returned promptly.
