Arachu Castro, PhD, MPH is a medical anthropologist trained in public health, working mostly in infectious disease (AIDS, tuberculosis, dengue) and reproductive health. Dr. Castro received her PhD in Social Anthropology and Ethnology from Paris' EHESS and in Sociology from the University of Barcelona. She also received her MPH from Harvard School of Public Health. Dr. Castro is Assistant Professor of Social Medicine in the Department of Global Health and Social Medicine at Harvard Medical School and Academic Director of the Program in Infectious Disease and Social Change. At Partners In Health, she serves as Director of Mexico and Guatemala Projects.
