The Division of Global Health Equity at Brigham and Women’s Hospital created the Frank Hatch Scholars program to support physicians who are dedicating their careers to the treatment and study of diseases of poverty. The program recognizes and honors Frank Hatch’s long and deep commitment to helping disadvantaged people. His efforts and achievements over the course of a lifetime reflect the Division’s own goals: to reduce health disparities and improve the health of patients in resource-poor communities in the United States and abroad. Hatch scholars devote most of their time to caring for patients, working in close collaboration with Partners In Health and its sister organizations in Boston, Haiti, Peru, Russia and Rwanda. The scholars work closely with designated mentors who are recognized experts in fields relevant to their research interests and in the provision of care. They participate in ongoing faculty-led seminars on research, policy and care delivery. The program provides salary and benefit support to each Hatch scholar. Current Hatch Scholars
