Dr. David Brooks is the Program Director of The Brigham and Women's Advanced Minimally Invasive Surgery (MIS) Fellowship.
Fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital
The Brigham and Women’s Hospital Advanced MIS Fellowship offers an opportunity to acquire advanced MIS skills in all aspects of laparoscopy. The Fellowship is designed to offer an exposure to a broad range of laparoscopic procedures including foregut, bariatric, solid organ, and colorectal. A DaVinci robot is available and provides further opportunity to learn cutting edge MIS techniques. Fellows can tailor their experience to meet their needs and desires and are strongly encouraged to undertake a clinical research project. Fellows have independent out-patient clinic responsibility and a limited on-call independent operating experience. The Brigham and Women’s Advanced MIS Fellowship is closely aligned with similar programs at the Massachusetts General Hospital. Fellows are offered the opportunity to rotate for one month to this sites at the end of the academic year. The Fellow also works closely with residents within the General Surgical Residency.
Fellowship Applications
BWH currently offers one Fellowship position, which is matched through NRMP. Fellowship applications are reviewed and dowloaded only through www.fellowshipcouncil.org. The deadline for all applications is September 1, 2009.
The interview date for this year's position will be in October 2009. The specific date will be confirmed asap.
