Head and Neck Cancer

Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) otolaryngologists specialize in surgical treatment for cancer of the head and neck. We offer the most current diagnostic methods and treatments, including minimally invasive surgical approaches aided by video technology.

We are the surgical team for Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center, an exceptional collaboration between two world-class medical centers. At DFBCC, patients are evaluated and treated in a true multidisciplinary setting. Members of the team include surgeons, medical oncologists, pathologists, other specialists and allied health professionals who work as one team to deliver true patient-centered care.

Our Head and Neck Oncology Program is a founding member and integral component of the Harvard Head and Neck Oncology Program, a collaborative organization spanning the major Harvard teaching hospitals in the areas of patient care, research, innovation, education and training. As the region's most comprehensive multidisciplinary service dedicated exclusively to patients with head and neck cancers, the program offers:

  • Extensive expertise in evaluation and treatment
  • Convenient and prompt access to comprehensive services
  • Close collaboration among cancer specialist, referring physicians, patients, family members and other caregivers
  • Access to innovative therapies
  • Continuity of care

We offer services for patients who require the full spectrum of a tertiary level hospital at BWH’s main campus in Boston. We also offer services in community-based locations for easy access and patient convenience in Foxboro at the Brigham and Women’s/Massachusetts General Health Care Center and in Jamaica Plain at Brigham and Women’s Faulkner Hospital.
