Active Research Projects:

1. Impact of neoadjuvant chemotherapy on immediate breast reconstruction—Co-Primary Investigator.

2. Impact of immediate breast reconstruction on adjuvant therapy for breast cancer—Co-Primary Investigator.

3. Transplantation of allograft face or facial subunit for treatment of burn or cancer related facial defects—Co-investigator.

4. An evaluation of cosmetic results and toxicity in the use of post-mastectomy immediate reconstruction with a tissue expander and acellular dermal matrix followed by radiation therapy—Co-investigator.

IRB Approval for the following research protocols as a primary investigator:

1. Clinical Outcomes for Post-mastectomy Reconstruction After Breast Conserving Therapy (BCT) (in progress)

2. Abdominal donor site morbidity and functional outcome following bilateral TRAM flap breast reconstruction.

3. Use of tumescent mastectomy technique as a risk factor for native breast skin flap necrosis following immediate breast reconstruction.

4. Alloderm as a risk factor for post-operative infection following immediate breast reconstruction.
