Understand the definitions of raster, bitmap, pixel-based photos and vector objects. Learn the basics of image preparation. Learn to avoid cross platform and operating system problems. Understand how to prep images in one application for use in other applications. Become skilled at determining the right resolution and file format.
Class will be taught by Beth Beighlie, Digital Imaging Coordinator, Research Imaging Solutions at Harvard Medical School. Beth Beighlie has been creating images at Harvard Medical School since 1987. She trains the faculty at HMS and it’s affiliates on how to take advantage of the unique ways to use proprietary scientific applications, Microsoft Office and a variety graphics programs to create, acquire and edit images that are included in grant applications, journal articles and presentations to the scientific community.
