Overview
General volunteers must be 16 years of age or older and are asked to make a commitment of at least six months of service. We have approximately 650 general volunteers working in a variety of administrative and clinical departments throughout the hospital. We are currently seeking general volunteers with weekday daytime availability to work in departments such as, but not limited to, the BWH Gift Shop and Patient and Family Relations. Volunteer applicants must attend New Volunteer Orientation (NVO), complete application materials, submit to a CORI check, interview with the OSSVS Program and Training Coordinator, provide two professional references, and be cleared through BWH Occupational Health before receiving a volunteer placement in the hospital.
