Weight Loss Surgery is appropriate for patients who are 100 pounds or more overweight and have been unsuccessful with other attempts at weight loss. Patients choosing weight loss surgery meet with a surgeon for a consultation as well as a registered dietitian and psychologist. Upon surgical clearance, the patient will undergo stomach surgery to reduce the size of the stomach that will reduce food consumption.
Patients choosing weight loss surgery will receive routine medical monitoring from the surgeon, a PWM physician and a PWM registered dietitian. All individuals choosing surgery will have the option of attending bimonthly interactive group sessions led by a PWM registered dietitian. Each class is specifically designed for individuals who have undergone weight loss surgery. For appropriate patients, weight loss surgery is a safe and effective treatment for losing weight.
Our team has performed over 1,000 weight loss operations and is supported by a professional staff of dietitians, physician assistants, and nurses who specialize in caring for the weight loss surgery patient.
