Preexisting Medical Conditions and Pregnancy

Achieve a Healthy Pregnancy Despite Preexisting Conditions

If you have a preexisting medical condition, it is ideal to consult with a high-risk pregnancy physician (also called a maternal-fetal medicine specialist) before becoming pregnant. Once you are pregnant, the supportive team members of our high-risk pregnancy clinics work together and with you. They create an individualized care plan aimed specifically at your needs. This ensures that your condition is being monitored before, during and after pregnancy and that all precautions are taken for you and your baby.

We offer multidisciplinary clinics for women with:

  • Hypertension
  • Heart disease
  • Diabetes
  • Inflammatory bowel disease
  • Gastrointestinal diseases
  • Blood disorders
  • Multiple Sclerosis and other neurologic conditions
  • Cancer
  • Asthma and other lung diseases
  • Mental health needs
  • Lupus and other rheumatologic disorders.

Our Safe Care Commitment

The health and safety of our patients, families and staff is our top priority. We know that COVID-19 will be with us for the foreseeable future, so we're taking a comprehensive approach to provide you and your loved ones the safest possible environment. Read our Safe Care Commitment.
