Varicose Veins: Information Session and Screening

Thirty percent of adults will develop varicose veins at some point in their life. Left untreated, varicose veins can cause physical discomfort. In these talks, vein care experts, Dr. Chieh Min Fan and Dr. Michael Stecker, from the Brigham and Women’s Vein Care Center, will discuss venous disease and the benefits of various treatments for varicose veins. The sessions will take place in the 2nd floor Community Room from 6pm-6:45pm. After the lecture, attendees can take advantage of a free varicose vein screening in the Specialty Clinic on the 4th floor. To schedule your free screening, please call 508-718-4306.

Understanding Urinary Incontinence in Women

Join us for a free health talk as expert urologist, Dr. Vatche Minassian and Maura Craig, PA-C, discuss urinary incontinence in women. Learn what incontinence is, how common it is, the different types of incontinence and how to best manage and treat incontinence.

Inside the Opioid Crisis and Medication Assisted Treatment

Join us for a free health talk as Keri Grothe, NP gives an inside look on the national opioid use crisis. Grothe will discuss how one becomes addicted to opioids, how Medication Assisted Treatment works to treat addiction and she will offer tips for ways to help a loved one who is struggling with opioid use disorder.

Staying in the Game: Knee and Hip Injury Prevention and Treatment

Whether you’re a long-time athlete or a weekend warrior, learn how to avoid injuries of the hip and knee so you can stay on the field, court, rink or in the pool. Expert orthopedic surgeons, Dr. Richard Wilk and Dr. Eric Berkson, and physical therapist, Jodi Klein, PT, DPT, OCS, CSCS, will provide tips for pre-season conditioning and training and will discuss diagnosis and treatment of common sports injuries. They will also review the minimally invasive surgical techniques available at Brigham Health designed to help get patients back in the game.
