Rheumatology Services

In the Division of Rheumatology, Inflammation, and Immunity at Brigham and Women's Hospital, we understand there is no one-size-fits-all solution when it comes to rheumatologic care. That is why our rheumatologists work with each patient individually to provide innovative and comprehensive diagnosis, treatment and management for the full spectrum of rheumatic diseases.

Our Team-based Care Clinics

Our division is part of the Brigham's Orthopaedic & Arthritis Center, a world-renowned Center of Excellence that provides you with the most advanced care for all bone and joint conditions. For decades, the Brigham has been recognized nationally for our expertise in rheumatoid arthritis care and research.

Rheumatic diseases often involve symptoms that affect different systems in the body, so we take a team-based approach in our care clinics. Our rheumatologists work together with orthopaedic specialists, neurologists, dermatologists and other medical and surgical specialists from throughout the hospital, so you can count on comprehensive, highly specialized care for everything from mild to the most complex rheumatic disease.

Some of our clinics are housed at our primary site in the Hale Building for Transformative Medicine, while others are hosted elsewhere at the Brigham. These clinics include the:

  • Cardiovascular Rheumatology Clinic, which treats the cardiovascular complications of rheumatic diseases
  • Center for Adults with Pediatric Rheumatic Illness (CAPRI), which manages care for patients with childhood rheumatic disease as they transition into adulthood
  • Center for Arthritis and Joint Diseases, which evaluates and treats more than 100 causes of arthritis
  • Center for Skin and Related Musculoskeletal Diseases (SARM), which provides comprehensive care for patients with both systemic rheumatic and skin diseases
  • Fast Track Clinic for Giant Cell Arteritis, which offers rapid evaluation for patients with suspected giant cell arteritis
  • Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Clinic, which brings together a multidisciplinary team of physicians to deliver specialized care for patients with inflammation in the lungs
  • Lupus Center, which delivers state-of-the-art, collaborative care to patients with lupus
  • Neurology Clinic in Rheumatology, which treats the neurological complications of rheumatic diseases
  • Osteoarthritis Center, which offers diagnostic evaluation and a wide range of osteoarthritis treatment options, all individualized for patients
  • Physiatry Clinic in Rheumatology, which specializes in nonoperative management of spine disorders
  • Raynaud's Clinic, one of only a few clinics in New England dedicated exclusively to evaluating and treating Raynaud's disease
  • Spine Center, which specializes in caring for the full spectrum of spinal conditions, from the common to the most complex
