Obstetrics Services

General Obstetrics provides comprehensive prenatal services and delivery for pregnant people. Our division provides both in-person and virtual care based on our patients' clinical needs.

Outside of traditional prenatal care, our practice offers a variety of specialized services to our patients including and not limited to:

African Women’s Health Center (AWHC)

The overall mission of the African Women’s Health Center (AWHC) is to holistically improve the health of refugee and immigrant women who have undergone female genital cutting. The center provides access, understanding and community to women who have long-term complications from this tradition and who seek reproductive health care. The AWHC provides culturally and linguistically appropriate obstetric, gynecologic, and reproductive health care to African immigrants and refugees.

Multilingual Care Services

Our clinic staff include individuals fluent in Spanish, Arabic, French, Portuguese, Wolof, Mandarin, Cantonese, Amharic, Tigrigna, and Cape Verdean Creole.

Group Prenatal Care Program

Our group prenatal care program provides an enhanced prenatal care experience to groups of six to eight patients. Patients receive pregnancy education and peer support in addition to routine prenatal care. We currently offer groups in Spanish and English.

Management of Complex Pregnancy Conditions

We provide consultation for infectious disease throughout pregnancy including HIV, syphilis, COVID-19, abnormal placentation, hypertensive disease in pregnancy, diabetes in pregnancy, among others.

Midwifery Care for Young Adults

Within the Division of General Obstetrics and Gynecology Specialists, our certified nurse midwives provide comprehensive obstetric care to pregnant adolescents and young adults under the age of 23. Our midwives care for women across the lifespan in 10 health centers in Boston. This care includes birth control guidance, sexually transmitted infections (STI) screening, gynecologic care, prenatal care, and care during labor and birth.
