Osteotomies

High Tibial Osteotomy (HTO): High tibial osteotomy is a procedure for bowlegged patients. The tibia (shin) is cut and straightened, then held in place with a plate and screws. HTO is performed for arthritis localized on the inside part of the knee.

Distal Femoral Osteotomy (DFO): Distal femoral osteotomy is a procedure for knock-kneed patients with arthritis on the outside part of the knee. In this procedure the femur (thigh bone) is cut and straightened.

Tibial Tubercle Osteotomy (TTO): Tibial tubercle osteotomy is used to treat patients who suffer from patellar maltracking with or without cartilage damage. TTO can be performed in conjunction with autologous chondrocyte implantation (ACI) in an effort to treat both maltracking and cartilage damage.
