Prescriptions

Bedside Delivery (Meds-to-Beds)

Brigham and Women’s Hospital makes it easy to fill prescriptions needed from a hospital stay and helps resolve coverage issues prior to discharge. Meds-to-Beds is a FREE service designed to enhance the patient’s discharge process. If you would like to use this service, please let your nurse or provider know. Once your prescriptions are ready, a pharmacy team member will contact you and deliver to your bedside before discharge.

Mail Delivery

For your convenience, our main campus pharmacy is proud to offer mail delivery service for prescriptions. Some limitations may apply. For more information, please contact the pharmacy directly or view our Outpatient Pharmacy FAQs.

Medication Synchronization (Med Sync)

If you find it difficult to keep up with refilling medications or you are coming to the pharmacy multiple times per month, we may be able to help. Our Medication Synchronization (Med Sync) service is a program where our pharmacy team helps to coordinate many or all refills to be picked up on the same day. Some medications may not be eligible for this service. Please speak with a pharmacy team member for more information or to enroll.

Refills

To refill a prescription, call your preferred pharmacy to make a request.

Our Boston location has an interactive voice response (IVR) system to allow patients to submit prescription refills 24 hours a day without having to speak to a pharmacy staff member. Refills can be entered into the automated system using the seven-digit prescription number, highlighted on the top left of the prescription label. You can also use the IVR system to check on the status of your prescription.

We also offer an auto-refill program at all locations, for your convenience. Select, enrolled medications will be refilled automatically when they are due. If a new prescription is required, our pharmacy team will contact your provider electronically.

Shingrix Clinic

Shingrix vaccinations will be offered daily at the main campus BWH Outpatient Pharmacy located on the Pike at 45 Francis Street. This service is offered Monday to Friday from 9am-4 pm by a certified pharmacist for patients older than 50. A prescription is required and patients are encouraged to call ahead to verify vaccine availability. Appointments do not need to be made.
