Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) is a Level I Trauma Center in Boston that provides emergency resuscitation and care for any injured patient. Multidisciplinary surgical and medical treatment is managed by on-call trauma attendings who work together with trauma specialists in the areas of plastic and reconstructive surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, and radiology. The BWH Emergency Department sees more than 8,000 trauma-related visits annually, and more than 2,000 of these patients are admitted for further trauma care.
We are pleased to announce that the Committee on Trauma of the American College of Surgeons reverified BWH as a Level I Trauma Center through April 2026. BWH was commended for its "demonstrated commitment to provide superior trauma care."
