Redline Receives 2012 Clinical Innovations Grant Award

Susan Redline, MD, MPH
Susan Redline, MD, MPH, program director in the BWH Division of Sleep and Cardiovascular Medicine, has been awarded the 2012 Clinical Innovations Grant Award from the Department of Medicine (DOM) at BWH.

The DOM Clinical Innovations Grant is awarded to one proposal every two years by the Department of Medicine, which provides seed funding to support the development of innovative clinical programs that: improve patient care, provide unique clinical services, are financially self-sustaining and expand expertise in DOM specialties.

Redline's proposal is called, "Healthy Sleep/Healthy Hearts". The goal is to implement a comprehensive program to evaluate, diagnose and treat patients who suffer from common yet under-recognized sleep disorders and associated cardiovascular risks factors such as diabetes, obesity, and depression. The program will establish both outpatient and inpatient sleep medicine consultation and clinical services, a group lifestyle education series, and individual counseling and support for all patients enrolled.

Redline is collaborating on this project with a group of esteemed physicians, including Drs. Kathryn Britton, JoAnne Foody, Paula Johnson, Anjali Ahn, and Augustine Choi.
