Carl G. Streed Jr., MD

Carl G. Streed Jr., MD, a fellow in the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care, received the Health Professional Leadership Award at the sixth annual LGBT Health Workforce Conference. His research on gender-minority health disparities was published in JAMA Internal Medicine, and his work emphasizing the need for cardiovascular research in transgender communities receiving hormone therapy has been highlighted in the Annals of Internal Medicine.

The sixth annual LGBT Health Workforce Conference took place in New York City on May 4-5. The conference provides an overview of the latest practices in preparing the health care workforce to address the health concerns and disparities of LGBT communities.
