Cannon Receives NLA Honorary Lifetime Membership Award


Christopher Cannon, MD


Christopher Cannon, MD, of the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine, won the Honorary Lifetime Membership Award from the National Lipid Association (NLA). This award recognizes his expertise and contributions to the field of clinical lipidology.

Cannon has published over 1,000 original articles, reviews or book chapters in the field of acute coronary syndromes and prevention and has authored or edited 18 books. His work focuses on clinical trials, registries and quality improvement projects in the fields of acute coronary syndromes, atrial fibrillation, diabetes, lipids and prevention. He recently joined the BWH Cardiovascular Innovation group, which includes physicians, biological and data scientists, systems developers, analysts, pharmacists, patient-centered navigators and administrators who are working together to revolutionize health care delivery.

The NLA’s mission is enhance the practice of lipid management in clinical medicine.
