Shea Selected for Heart Rhythm Society's Distinguished Allied Professional Award

Julie Shea, MS, RNCS, FHRS, CCDS, a nurse practitioner in the Cardiac Arrythmia Service, will receive the Distinguished Allied Professional Award from the Heart Rhythm Society (HRS) during its 40th Scientific Sessions in San Francisco this May.

This award honors an individual who has demonstrated strategic leadership in the HRS allied community throughout his or her career, and in doing so has furthered the field of electrophysiology and patient care. Shea was nominated by her peers for her mentorship and dedication to the HRS mission.

Over her 37 years as a registered nurse and advanced practice provider, Shea has held numerous positions focused on clinical care, teaching and research. She has long served as a volunteer with HRS, which strives to improve the care of patients by promoting research, education and optimal health care policies and standards. She is chair of HRS’ new Allied Professional Council.
