Ganguli Receives New England Regional Award for Excellence as a Clinician-Investigator

Ishani Ganguli, MD, MPH

Ishani Ganguli, MD, MPH, of the Division of General Internal Medicine and Primary Care, was honored with the Society of General Internal Medicine's New England Regional Award for Excellence as a Clinician-Investigator in General Internal Medicine for displaying innovation and excellence in research and policy development.

The award is intended to highlight outstanding early or mid-career clinician-investigators in the New England region who are active members in the Society of General Internal Medicine either at the regional or national level.

Ganguli is an internist at Brigham and Women's Advanced Primary Care Associates, South Huntington, and a health services and policy researcher. She studies the value of ambulatory care, with a focus on primary care payment and delivery, the care of patients with medical and social complexity, and low-value medical tests that can cause a "cascade" of follow-up treatments and ultimately lead to poorer health outcomes.

The Society of General Internal Medicine is a member-based internal medical association of more than 3,300 of the world’s leading academic general internists, who are dedicated to improving the access to care for all populations, eliminating healthcare disparities and enhancing medical education.
