Khurana Wins AAPI Most Distinguished Physician Award

Bharti Khurana, MD, of the Department of Radiology, was honored with the Most Distinguished Physician Award from the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI) for her unparalleled service and outstanding work in the field of medicine.

This award is given to a current or former physician member of AAPI whose work has significantly advanced science, innovation in patient care and humanity at large.

Khurana is the founding director of the Trauma Imaging Research and Innovation Center. She is an emergency radiologist in the Department of Radiology at the Brigham and an associate professor of Radiology at Harvard Medical School. Her clinical and research efforts involve accurate and meaningful imaging interpretation for patients in the Emergency Department, MRI optimization, spine trauma, machine learning tools in radiology, geriatric trauma and intimate partner violence.

Founded in 1982, the AAPI represents a conglomeration of more than 80,000 practicing physicians in the United States.
