Henderson Wins Brown Medical School Senior Alumni Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

Galen Henderson, MD, director of the Neurocritical Care and Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit in the Department of Neurology, and chief diversity and inclusion officer for Faculty, Trainees and Students for the Brigham, was honored with the Senior Alumni Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion from Brown Medical School for his exceptional leadership and his advocacy for women and underrepresented minorities in medicine.

The Senior Alumni Award for Excellence in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion honors alumni who have excelled in their careers, making significant contributions to diversity, equity and inclusion locally, regionally, nationally or internationally. 

Henderson is a leading expert and researcher specializing in cerebrovascular disease, critical care neurology and strokes. As chief diversity and inclusion officer for Faculty, Trainees, and Students, he serves as he leads a robust set of priorities to recruit, retain and advance the careers of diverse faculty, trainees and students.
