Cindy Liu, PhD, of the Department of Newborn Medicine and the Department of Psychiatry, received the 2021 Annual Excellence in Research Award from Brigham and Women’s Department of Psychiatry for her outstanding research on the measurement and mechanisms of stress involved in mental health across key developmental time points, and the identification of resilience and disparities within mental health.
The Annual Excellence in Research Award recognizes individuals within the department who have produced exemplary research leading to impactful advancements within the field.
More broadly at the Brigham, Liu is the Director of the Developmental Risk and Cultural Resilience Laboratory at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Her research within the laboratory focuses on socio-emotional experiences, relationships and mental health in children, parents and families.
