Patricia C. Dykes, PhD, MA, RN, FAAN, FACMI, senior nurse scientist and program director for Research in the Center for Patient Safety, Research and Practice, will receive the International Nurse Researcher Hall of Fame award from the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing for excellence in nursing research. This honor recognizes nurse researchers whose work has improved the profession of nursing and the lives of the people they serve.

The 2022 Hall of Fame induction will take place during Sigma’s 33rd International Nursing Research Congress in Edinburgh, Scotland, on July 25. The Congress — which will bring together nurse researchers, students, clinicians and leaders focused on evidence-based research — will convene under the theme “Transforming Global Nursing Knowledge Through Research, Scholarship and Innovation.”

Dykes’ research focuses on patient safety and clinical informatics and includes leading research on guidelines for preventing patients from falling and integrating data needed for patient care and support for decision-making into clinical practices.

The Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing aims to empower and connect nurse leaders in order to improve global health care.
