Gray Wins Harvard Medical School Young Mentor Award

Kathryn Gray, MD, PhD

Kathryn Gray, MD, PhD, of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, won the Young Mentor Award from Harvard Medical School (HMS) for her demonstrated dedication to mentorship.

The Young Mentor Award was established in 2005 to recognize HMS faculty who are in the early stages of their career and devote their time to offering mentorship to others. Gray received the award at the 2022 Excellence in Mentoring Awards Ceremony.

In addition to her work mentoring trainees at the Brigham and students as a professor at HMS, Gray leads a cross-institutional lab at BWH and the MGH Center for Genomic Medicine studying the genetics of pregnancy loss, preeclampsia and the effects of the SARS-CoV-2 infection and COVID-19 vaccination in pregnancy. The lab’s research also aims to improve prenatal screening and diagnostic testing.

HMS aims to nurture a diverse, inclusive community dedicated to alleviating suffering and improving health and well-being for all through excellence in teaching and learning, discovery and scholarship, and service and leadership.
