Statement from Brigham and Women's Hospital regarding Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center

For nearly a quarter of a century, the Dana-Farber Brigham Cancer Center has combined the strengths of a leading medical oncology and research institute and one of the nation’s most respected hospitals to achieve the best outcomes for hundreds of thousands of patients battling cancer, providing them with the latest in cancer treatment and access to pioneering new therapies through clinical trials. Through this exceptional partnership, Brigham and Women’s Hospital’s highly trained cancer specialists are fully responsible for providing surgical cancer care, premier radiation oncology therapy, and the outstanding diagnostic capabilities of our internationally renowned radiology and pathology departments. There will be no changes to the excellent care that our patients currently receive.

For over one hundred years, Brigham and Women’s Hospital has provided highly advanced cancer care, built on a foundation of biomedical research, to patients from around the world. We offer the full continuum of care at one of the nation’s top ranked hospitals, including obstetrics and gynecology, where we rank first nationwide. Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital, the two academic medical centers that are part of Mass General Brigham, receive more federal funds for medical research and perform more cancer-related surgeries than any other hospital in the country. At a time when more people are being diagnosed with cancer and other complex illnesses than ever before, Brigham and Women’s Hospital is unwavering in its total commitment to compassionately provide the advanced, research-infused care that will help define the future of the prevention, treatment, and cure of cancer.
