Learning objectives:

• To explore the structure, rationale, and outcomes of two mentoring programs
• To identify and analyze common challenges in program implementation
• To generate potential solutions or adaptations for overcoming similar challenges in their own settings, informed by group discussion and shared experiences
Target Audience: This activity is intended for physicians, nurses, physician assistants, psychologists, and other health care providers with any specialty.

Course Director: Fiona Fennessy, MBBCH, PhD, Director, Center for Academic Development and Enrichment (CADE) and Professor of Radiology.

Presenters:

Huma Farid, MD, graduated from Harvard Medical School and completed OBGYN residency at Brigham and Women's Hospital/Massachusetts General Hospital. She has been on faculty at BIDMC since 2015 and serves as the Division Chief for general OBGYN and the Director of the BIDMC Academy.

Jennifer Maietta, MS, CCC-SLP, has been an outpatient pediatric speech-language pathologist at Mass General Hospital since 2014. Her professional interests are in clinical supervision, speech sound disorders, bilingualism, and communication disorders in medically complex populations.

ACCREDITATION

In support of improving patient care, Mass General Brigham is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.

Credit Designation Statements

AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM Mass General Brigham designates this live activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 CreditTM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Nursing

Mass General Brigham designates this activity for 1 ANCC contact hour. Nurses should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

Physician Assistants

Mass General Brigham has been authorized by the American Academy of PAs (AAPA) to award AAPA Category 1 CME credit for activities planned in accordance with AAPA CME Criteria. This activity is designated for 1 AAPA Category 1 CME credit. PAs should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation.
