Ethical Foundations in Medicine: Applying Ethics to Education and Practice

This faculty development session provides a concise, practical overview of core ethical systems and the foundations of medical ethics, with an emphasis on how these frameworks apply to teaching, mentoring, supervision, and professional decision-making in medicine. Through a combination of brief didactics and interactive discussion, participants will explore enduring ethical questions, such as professional responsibility and ethical duty and reflect on how ethical principles guide everyday educational and clinical work.

The session will focus on ethical fundamentals, with brief consideration of how these principles continue to inform practice amid evolving contexts, including emerging technologies.
