To reach a physician at BWH, or to receive additional information about the hospital's services, call the toll-free Physician Referral Service number: 1-800-MD to BWH (1-800-638-6294). This number is staffed 8:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A representative can direct you to the physician with whom you wish to speak, as well as facilitate consultations and second opinions. Extended service coverage is anticipated; until that time, after hours, you may leave a voicemail message, and your call will be returned promptly.
Telephone calls for appointments or other patient information should be made between the hours of 8:30 AM and 4:45 PM, Monday through Friday. Individual physician schedules vary within these times. The main telephone number to the facility is (617) 732-5666. If for any reason you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible so that the time can be made available to other patients.
Please arrive fifteen minutes prior to your scheduled appointment to complete registration. You should bring the following items with you if they have not already been sent:
We do everything we can to make the billing process as efficient and uncomplicated as possible. We can direct you to a billing representative who can assist with insurance questions you may have. Any changes in your insurance coverage should be communicated to our office staff as they occur.
The "EMS" is located at 221 Longwood Avenue, Boston MA 02115 on the second floor of the Richardson Fuller Building - RFB-2.
From the North: Follow Storrow Drive West to the Park Drive/Kenmore Square exit. Stay in left lane on ramp for Boylston St., then bear right for Boylston/Outbound. At second set of lights, bear left onto Brookline Ave. to the third light and turn left onto Longwood Ave.
From the South: Heading North on Route 3 (Southeast Expressway) take the Massachusetts Ave./Roxbury exit (#18) on right. At the end of the ramp, cross Mass. Ave. onto Melnea Cass Boulevard. At the end of Melnea Cass Blvd. turn left onto Tremont St., then your first right onto Ruggles St. At the intersection of Ruggles St. and Huntington Ave, turn left onto Huntington Ave. and right at Mass College of Art onto Longwood Ave.
From the West: Heading East on the Massachusetts Turnpike, take Route 95 South (128 South) to Route 9 East. Route 9 becomes Huntington Ave. at Mass College of Art. At Mass College of Art, take a left onto Longwood Ave.
MBTA bus #66 (Allston-Brighton to Dudley Station) and #39 (Copley and Arborway) stop at Huntington Avenue and Longwood Avenue.
MBTA bus #47 (City Hospital to Central Square in Cambridge) stops in front of 221 Longwood Ave.
MBTA bus #60 (Kenmore Square to Cypress/Chestnut Hill) and #65 (Kenmore Square to Brighton Center) stop at the corner of Brookline Avenue and Longwood Ave.
Rapid transit Green Line: E train (Heath Street/Arborway) stops on the corner of Longwood and Huntington Avenue. (Longwood Medical Stop)
Parking is available in a small lot located in front of the building. Spaces are available on a first come, first serve basis and are controlled by a parking attendant. Valet Parking is also available at 221 Longwood.
Additional reserved spaces for handicapped patients are found next to our building on Avenue Louis Pasteur. If you park here, please proceed to the side entrance and ring the bell on the intercom system to the left of the door to get across into the building.
