Brigham Research Institute

Brigham and Women’s Hospital conducts musculoskeletal research at the Brigham Research Institute (BRI). The following Centers within BRI are focused on advancing our understanding of orthopaedic and musculoskeletal diseases and treatments.

Musculoskeletal Research Center

Orthopaedic Research Laboratories

The Orthopaedic Research Laboratories (ORL) within the Brigham Research Institute translates findings from basic and clinical research into treatments for skeletal health and orthopedic care. The ORL involves the following investigative programs:

Stepping Strong Center

Collaborative research teams at The Gillian Reny Stepping Strong Center for Trauma Innovation address long-term solutions for treating bone infections, orthopaedic injuries, volumetric muscle loss, burn injuries, and spinal cord injury.
