Most radiology exams require a referral order from your doctor. If your doctor is a Mass General Brigham physician, she or he will make the order in our electronic order-entry system and will also schedule the appointment for the time and location you choose. Physicians who are not part of the Mass General Brigham network will need to fax your imaging exam order to us. After that is done, you can then call us to schedule your appointment. You can also call Radiology Scheduling to change your appointment. If you call when the office is closed (business hours are listed below), leave a message and your call will be returned the morning of the next business day.
Women who are due for their annual screening mammogram do not need a doctor’s referral and can schedule the appointment themselves by calling Radiology Scheduling.

When you schedule your appointment our scheduling office will inform you whether your visit will be at Brigham and Women’s Hospital or a virtual Visit. If you are scheduled for a virtual visit our staff will reach out to you directly to assist you in connecting virtually with your provider.

Our team of maternal-fetal medicine specialists (high risk obstetricians), radiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other medical specialists provide supportive and compassionate care before, during, and after pregnancy for women who have or are at risk of having pregnancy complications. This care includes counseling, evaluation, and medical and surgical care.
Please provide us at least 48 hours notice so that we may allow other patients the opportunity to take your appointment and, if necessary, reschedule your visit. However, it is most courteous to call as soon as you realize you must reschedule or cancel. Please try to be on time for your appointment. If you are running late, call ahead and let the hospital know your estimated time of arrival.
Note: The Image Service Center office will be closed to patient walk-in services effective Thursday March 19, 2020 due to visitor restrictions related to COVID-19 until further notice.
Patients can request a copy of their images on a CD by e-mailing, faxing or mailing a signed copy of the release form to the Image Service Center.

If your imaging exam was performed at BWH or one of our community-based locations, your images and reports are saved to your electronic medical record within four hours after completion of your exam. You can get a copy of your images on a CD at the BWH Image Service Center or any of our community-based locations. You will need to complete a release form, which you can bring with you or fax prior to pick-up. You will also need to provide positive identification to receive your images.
Radiology reports are available for viewing in your Patient Gateway account. If you are not enrolled in Patient Gateway, please click here to enroll. You may also request copies of your medical record by submitting an electronic request via Patient Gateway under Health>Health Tools>Request Records.

The Shapiro Family Center, located on the second floor of the Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascular Center, offers patients, families and friends a comfortable and convenient setting that includes educational resources, Internet access and relaxing spaces, as well as a waiting area when loved ones are having a procedure.

Elevators and an escalator, both in the 75 Francis Street lobby, provide easy access and entry to the building. Take the main lobby escalators (or Amory elevators) up to the 2nd floor. Turn left down the long hallway (bridge over Francis St. to Shapiro Building).
