Angiography and Interventional Radiology Referral and Scheduling Information for Patients and Families

Most radiology exams require a referral order from your doctor. If your doctor is a Partners Healthcare physician, she or he will make the order in our electronic order-entry system and will also schedule the appointment for the time and location you choose. Physicians who are not part of the Partners Healthcare network will need to fax your imaging exam order to us. After that is done, you can then call us to schedule your appointment. You can also call Radiology Scheduling to change your appointment. If you call when the office is closed (business hours are listed below), leave a message and your call will be returned the morning of the next business day.

Women who are due for their annual screening mammogram do not need a doctor’s referral and can schedule the appointment themselves by calling Radiology Scheduling.

Getting Copies of Your Images

If your imaging exam was performed at BWH or one of our community-based locations, your images and reports are saved to your electronic medical record within four hours after completion of your exam. You can get a copy of your images on a CD at the BWH Image Service Center or any of our community-based locations. You will need to complete a release form, which you can bring with you or fax prior to pick-up. You will also need to provide positive identification to receive your images.

Getting Copies of Your Radiology Reports or Medical Record

To receive copies of your medical record, you must submit a written, signed, and dated request form to Health Information Services. The form is available in  English or in Spanish.

Clinic Appointments and Pre-operative Check-in at Shapiro Center

Clinic appointments

Clinic appointments are located on the second floor of the Shapiro Cardiovascular Center in either Watkins Clinics B or C.

Outpatient Pre-operative Check-in

The Shapiro Family Center, located on the second floor of the Carl J. and Ruth Shapiro Cardiovascular Center, offers patients, families and friends a comfortable and convenient setting that includes educational resources, Internet access and relaxing spaces, as well as a waiting area when loved ones are having a procedure.

Directions to the Watkins Clinic and Pre-operative Check-in from the 75 Francis Street entrance:

Elevators and an escalator, both in the 75 Francis Street lobby, provide easy access and entry to the building. Take the main lobby escalators (or Amory elevators) up to the 2nd floor.  Turn left down the long hallway (bridge over Francis St. to Shapiro Building).  Once over the bridge, take a right and check-in with the Shapiro 2nd floor information desk to confirm your clinic location.
