Most insurance companies require pre-authorization for imaging exams to be performed. If you have questions regarding pre-authorization requirements, please call the customer service number on the back of your insurance card. If pre-authorization is required, that process will be initiated by the physician who ordered your imaging exam.
If you do not have insurance, the BWH Financial Counseling Office can assist you with the MassHealth/Medicaid application process.

Getting Copies of Your Images
If your imaging exam was performed at Brigham and Women's Hospital or one of our community-based locations, your images and reports are saved to your electronic medical record within four hours after completion of your exam. You can get a copy of your images on a CD at the BWH Image Service Center or any of our community-based locations. You will need to complete a release form, which you can bring with you or fax prior to pick-up. You will also need to provide positive identification to receive your images.
